I've already lost 5lbs from not being able to eat any solid foods after wisdom teeth surgery

I need some tips on how to not rapidly gain twice the amount of weight back once I can start eating normally again. I've been eating small amounts of yogurt, smoothies, apple sauce and soup lately, but soon I'll be anxious to go back to sandwiches and other regular food. I've lost 5lbs in 3 days.... any tips on how to not make 10 lbs come once I can go back to my normal diet??

remember how you feel now, about how AWESOME this is to be lighter. then cut all sweets, most oils and fats, then cut carbs to once every 3 days and portion controls on the rest. you can eat as many RAW veggies as you like. no dips, no butter, plain.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out in March 09'...I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks afterwards due to the liquid diet. As soon as I got off of it I gained it all back...and then some. When your body does not intake food it goes into starvation mode, wich is why when you are able to start eating again you will have EVERY craving for anything your eyes see.

The only advice I can give to control this is what my girlfriend did. For the first week that you are allowed REAL food, continue your liquid diet for 2 meals a day, and have one HEALTHY meal...preferably lunch. Then the next week, allow yourself to have a HEALTHY breakfast and lunch, but liquid diet for dinner. Continue this for the next week as well.

By then, your body will be used to not eating as much as before your wisdom age to your brain near as often.

She was able to keep the weight off and lose more after her body got used to a smaller intake of food. Hope this helps!

Well first of all, willpower, because once you can eat "normal" food again, you're body is going to go nuts with cravings. If you give into all of them a) you're going to gain way more than 10 lbs; and b) your stomach is going to rebel like mad since it's so used to a "liquid/soft food" diet. Stay sensible and eat right, exercise and use how you feel right now as motivation.

I just went back to my normal diet after I got my wisdom teeth out. I lost a couple pounds and I did gain them back but I didn't gain back any extra.
