Has anyone taken Topamax?I've just started taking this medication for compliated migraines and I cannot stay awake. Doc started me at 25mg and I am to work up to a 100 mg dose over the next four weeks, but I think I'm gonna be in coma by then. LOL

My sister took it and it didn't do that much. When her stress went away, her migraines went away. I know that sucks as news. On the positive, that could be a good motivator?... ouchie, though.. I hate those, especially when light in a room even hurts!... yuck.

Call your pharmacist before they close (hopefully they aren't closed yet) and ask this.

My hubby took this medication a while back and we tried to stick with it for a couple of weeks but he had the same problem it was like he was never awake. I would hav eto wake him up so he would eat. The doc had to take him off of it because it was to much for him. I would suggest you call your doc and talk to them about it and go from there, everyone reacts differently to medications.

My son went through adolescent epilepsy and htey prescribed topamax and it worked very well for him and didn't effect is moods and such. It does take a while to get used to it and for the drug to establish itself well into your system. At first it can feel a bit weird.
