Are you still Pro Abortion?

Today a Planned Parenthood leader resigned after viewing an ultrasound of an abortion. She stated "I can't do this any more."
Jane Roe (of Roe v Wade) has also changed her position and is Pro Life. What say you?

Update: November 04, 2009.
First, I was overwhelmed by the number of responses. Abortion is truly a "hot button" issue, folks feel passionate on ALL sides. Second, I gave everyone a +2, if I could of given Stars to everyone I would have. I was not "lazy" in the scores, I did read and consider all responses. There was no wrong answer. However, I did have a "problem" with some folks speaking for others, i.e. using terms such as "everyone" and "nobody". Finally, I was taken aback my a certain segment of respondents saying, as a male, abortion was none of my business, I have no reproductive rights, and to shut up, even though my personal feelings/position is still unknown and was never stated. Thank-you for your consideration, be kind to one another.

I say, "So what?" Just because one person gets ill at watching a procedure doesn't mean that we should take away a woman's right to choose.

What if she got sick watching somebody get life-saving open heart surgery? Should we then ban that? Her emotional reaction has no impact on the matter at hand.

I'd say it's easy to be prolife now that she's gotten what she needed out of being pro choice.

I think that a lot of people would have a tendency to rethink their position if they viewed an actual abortion. It is not for the faint of heart, to be sure. There are always other alternatives. My son was scheduled to be aborted until his mother watched the procedure, and then changed her mind. I for one am very glad that she did..........

As a pro-choice individual, I''ll never think abortion is a wonderful thing or should be used as a substitute for birth control. But it's deeper than that: it's about takin gaway control over someone's body. And isn't it something that people who'll never be in a pregnancy dilemma---such as happily married women & clergy---are among the first to want to ban it?

I can't take a stand on abortion because I have never been in the position of ever having to even consider abortion. Yet, I still believe 9 months is not much to ask to give your own child life..I do think abortion is a cruel process and there are so many childless couples who would love to have a child that someone doesn't want. i am on the pro choice side of this argument. while i will certainly oppose women who use abortion as a form of birth control ( and there are plenty of women who do this without regard for their own life and limb), i think there is an enormous population of unloved and unwanted babies in the world. nobody wants these disposable human lives. the pro lifers aren't absorbing this excess population. they are, for lack of a better term, a burden to our society so when a woman decides that she is not going to be able to provide the love and attention and financial support for this unplanned pregnancy, then there is a sound basis for termination of pregnancy.

I say that I've seen how otherwise sensible women have been damaged by the way carrying to term alters the structures of the brain and I don't ever want to end up like them, so I'm still most definitely pro-choice.

Nobody is "pro-abortion."

I'm pro-choice. I will always be pro-choice. I went to Catholic School - I was *raised* on disturbing photos of aborted fetuses and grotesque descriptions of how abortions are performed. I am STILL pro-choice. I'm not concerned with who changes their mind. For every person who becomes a new pro-lifer, there's one who becomes a new pro-choicer.

I'm still Pro-Choice.
I've been on the PIll 10 years, my State does not allow female Sterilization until you'vd HAD three kids.
I HATE KIDS!
I am the spoiled baby, end of story.
I would make a MORE HORRIBLE mother than Britney Spears.

Yet, the laws wont let me get sterilized.
I would get an abortion in a snap, and I have a Savings account just for funding it. already.
Just in case the Pill FAILS.

I say that it is none of my business. I will not attempt to inject myself into any person's life and make decisions like this FOR THEM. Until you walk in THEIR shoes, you cannot possibly understand what they are dealing with.

I am not Pro Abortion. I am Pro Choice. There is a difference. Who cares what ONE woman decides. It should still be the choice of the woman. I would never have an abortion when I unexpectly became pregnant I had and raised the baby. But it isn't for ME to decide for EVERY woman.

I'm not pro-anything. I think situations should never be painted with a broad brush. I think that majority of situations deserve a case by case look.
That being said, i DO think that access to abortion is too easy. i DO think that it's something that people need to consider more carefully with more information and seriousness.

Just 2 cents from a fellow gent who has no no business having an opinion as I have no reproductive rights =)~

So because two out of 150 million pro choicers changed their mind in the last 36 years, I'm suppose to also change my mind? I don't think so. In countries where abortion is illegal, just as many women get abortion, but the back alley kind. So keeping it legal is the lesser of two abortions.

People will always have an 'opinion' when it comes to abortion and I think that abortion should be a personal choice, not a choice that is influenced by society because no one can honestly say they know EXACTLY what the woman is going through...I had an abortion when I was 26 and it was a tubal pregnancy and I had a terrible time deciding what to do because it not only went against my beliefs, but I thought I was being 'punished' for not using birth control at the time and yet, even though my doctor told me I could die if I continued with the tubal pregnancy, I still had doubts...to this day, I still hold some guilt because I feel like I did something to another 'human' that shouldn't have been my choice to make and I realize that it was for my own health and safety but just having to make that decision was hard and it's not something that ever goes away...people have always had choices to make and even though society may not agree with those choices, I still believe that if the person is able to live with themselves afterwards, then who are we to say whether it's right or wrong because we don't know the entire story behind that choice...sometimes it's better to just live and let live, I think...:D

As I see the matter, which I will concede is perhaps an oversimplification is that some view abortion as murder and thus abhorrent. Others do not view it that way at all, more like exorcizing a tumor. Reasoned people can honestly see it either way. The other side of the coin is forcing a woman to carry an unwanted fetus to term. That is to me an even more odious situation. A woman must have complete choice over her own body. That argument trumps all others. Life frequently presents us with Hobson's choices both of which can be distasteful. This is one of those times.
