death / suicide ????if a person feels like they are truly suffering why should we have to be alive. I think its wicked wrong that we don't have the right to pick weather we want to live or not. I think we should have that option whats your thought's why why not ? - Asked by Female, 18-21 |

I posted about this, last week. I asked, If death takes us to a "better place", why are we so intent on keeping critically ill or injured people alive?

We all have the right to choose. That is the beauty of free will. The choice though isn't really death or suicide, it's more like giving or selfish. If we only live for ourselves, it's easy to wonder why live at all but if we are giving of ourselves and try to make other's live a little better, then we can gain purpose and fullfillment.

Depends on what they are "truly suffering" from. If you are very sick from an incurable disease and you are in a lot of pain and it will only get worse until you die, then sure, I can see how suicide would be an attractive option. But if you are just a depressed teen who feels life isn't turning out the way you expected, suicide is the DUMBEST move ever, plus its incredibly cruel to those who love you. Because even if you are "truly suffering" now, in a few years you WONT be truly suffering - a lot of teens FEEL like they are suffering but once they reach their early to mid 20s they realize what life has to offer, they realize that things ain't so bad, and they then go on and life wonderful, fulfilling lives. IF they had committed suicide back when they were suffering, all that wonderful future is wiped out completely, impossible to ever get back. And their loved ones are traumatized for the rest of their lives.

Everyone has the free will to choose as they wish, only others choose not to help people take their own life because they have free will as well. If you wanna die, do it yourself....

I agree. We should have the option. And, I agree that we do not have that option now. If we did, then we would be able to go to a doctor and get a pill that would make it quick, painless and not messy.

My friend killed herself this Fall.....I have felt like life is so hard it is just not worth it. I have so many money problems and yet I seem to be too lazy to off myself. I think if you are really miserable, it is your life and you can do what you want. I don't know what happens after you die so they might be worse off but only in another way. Money and Men/women problems are so hard, that sometimes there is no help.
