Land of the greed, home of the slave?

A new video has surfaced of Reverend Wright, Obama's pastor for the past 20 years, speaking and praising Marxist magazine. Not only was Rev. Wright proud to call himself a Marxist but he called America, "Land of the greed and home of the slave."

Is America land of the greed and home of the slave? Do you think Obama also holds these views?

Update: November 04, 2009.
If Obama doesn't hold Rev. Wright's views then why would Obama fill his advisory positions with people who describe themselves as Marxists and Socialists? As for greedy. Anybody can be greedy. It's greedy to covet someone else's earnings. What right do I have to your money just because you worked harder to earn it. What right do you or I have to the Kennedy's wealth? Answer - none. Slavery was abolished and we fought the Civil War over it. Slavery can take the form of racism and sexism. But that too has been abolished. Today, you are a slave only if you make yourself a slave. Only YOU hold yourself back. You become a slave when you join a union. You make yourself a slave to the union, pain no more than what the union says you can make.

America is the land of not only corporate greed but cultural greed. Are we home of slavery or the slave? Maybe, if you consider how anti union and common worker we are in this culture. Yep...maybe the second part is true as well.

I can not say that Obama holds the same views b/c I don't know him personally. But I can say that America, to a certain extent, is very greedy.

Yes and no.

Obama repudiated that icehole. But America clearly made lots of money iff the backs and blood of African slaves.

Yes America is definitly home of the greed. We steal from everyone in the name of progression and wealth. Sorry, but it's true. Obama's getting paid, so it really does no good to ascertain if he shares these views or not.

Reverend Wright is no longer Obama's pastor and Obama made that seperation clear during his campaign. Americans ARE greedy. Many have the attitude that it is ok to step on the backs of others or use them for our own personal gain. Why do you think the rest of the world hates us?

Absolutely America is the land of the greed and home of the slave, but I can think of several other Nations who also fit that description. I don't know if Obama holds these views, but if he does he's smart of enough to keep it to himself.

I think that America is still as 'wholesome' and 'free' as its citizens want it to be and that Rev Wright probably wanted to cause some 'shit' and said these words just to be more controversial...as for Obama, I think he would refute that he holds the same views because he had announced that he is no longer associated with Rev Wright during his campaigning, didn't he...:D

I know everyone recognizes the growing gap between the rich and poor, but very few know how to express thier disgust without sounding like a fool. People like Rev. Wright should leave the commentary to the professionals.

Racism and sexism have been abolished? Yahoooo! When did this happen, and why didn't anyone tell me about it? <rolling eyes in doubt> Listen, Obama has many people advising him. Most are "progressive" but not very socialist or marxist. Obama won the election because a lot of conservative republicans crossed over and voted for him. Today, less than a quarter of Americans call themselves Republicans. But I digress.

What most people don't know about Jerimiah Wright is that he was a decorated Marine who defended this country. I'm assuming that he's around 70, so the America that he knows consisted of segregation and bigotry. I'm almost 50, and I remember that kind of America. The change has been slow, and with people like Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levine, you would not think that anything had changed at all. These people could easily be translated back 40 years back. So instead of worrying about Rev. Wright, listen critically to Michael Savage and Glenn Beck.

You're wasting your time. Obama worshipers will never admit to any fault of his. I laugh when someone says Wright is no longer Obamas pastor. LOL, yeah, sitting their listening to anti-American, anti-White poison for 20 years had no effect on Obama... yeah right.
But, the Civil War was not fought over slavery, sorry to burst your bubble on that one.. read what Lincoln said about the slaves..

Why do you automatically think Obama would hold these views himself? Why are his views suspect simply because Wright and Obama have a religious connection? Why is it wrong to express an opinion about America that says 'the rich exploit the poor'? Don't you think it is better to have an independent thinking mind rather than one which follows the herd?

Are you raising this question because it may influence or undermine Obamas power or because you don't like someone saying something unpatriotic?
