How do you explain away a 1 yr gap on the resume?It is a small world and too many of my former colleagues know that I just wanted to take time off to check-out for a bit.

You won a small amount of money in the lottery and took time to look at your options as to what you really wanted in life....

How about just being honest and say that you took some time off to get your personal life in order. I don't think too many employers care that much about a 1 year gap if they really want you for a job. Also, maybe school or training can be a good excuse.
