My dad's health is not so good right now and i wish sometimes i could take the hurt from him and instead me have it.

I have that feeling when my children or grandchildren get sick. I would give anything and also take the pain in their place. I wouldn't give it a second thought. I hope your dad gets well real soon. Have a great night. Cheers from Down-Under..

yes, growing old is the pits, brad, and it often hurts those who hover about the elderly and infirmed as much, but in different ways, as it does the patient.

i spent time with my elderly and partially demented mother this past evening. she's beginning to loose motor control and eye-hand coordination, whole and very earnest conversations from yesterday at dinner time were entirely gone by dinner time tonight, as if never spoken. i sat there thinking, god, if there was mercy to be shown her, take ten good years away from my cognitive life and give them to her. please, god...

hang in there, tex. it's all you can do.
