The Catholic church say its a sin, and it used to be a chargable offence under the law here, God is the only person with the power over life and death.....However, I think its the last resort of the desperate to be honest.

I've been wrestling with this question for a long time. It is a sin to kill another human being so therefore killing yourself
(if you're human) would be a sin. The other side of the story is that your life is yours. If you choose to end it, that action should not be a sin. If you end your own life, it's like pro-choice, isn't it?

i don't thnk it is a sin, because if people living happily, why they want to suicide.

but what i think is, if u want to give up your life, then you should give your life to someone who needs it, such as donate a ongran or something like that.

it is also shameful that god give u a healthy body and you waste it. how many people in africa is suffering from hungry and not haing clean water? and they are complainiting not being happy, and it just sounds non-sense!

The question is do you believe there is a God, a heaven and hell? Is it all true or a myth to give people faith and hope. Was the 10 commandments written by God... or by someone just to make people believe if acts were done they would go to hell.

Which leads to the question... is suicide bad, a sin.... cause people don't understand how one can do such an act, people don't want to lose people they love... why would anyone want to live with the thoughts a loved one commited suicide. What ever people find hard to accept it is considered a sin or crime. In some cases people claim suicidal to be a disease. Don't some diseases kill humans?

It is only a sin if one feels it is a sin.

Not in My Opinion .....

Suicide is a *way of means for Happiness for Very Ill People
**they get tunnel vision and see NOTHING but their Own Pain

Many will argue the Roman Catholic Religion on this one, however

To Each Our *Their* Own .......

No.

Suicide is a very serious issue. Too often the whole issue is mocked on here. The last thing people contemplating suicide are thinking about is whether they will be punished by God for committing a sin.

I always feel sorry for people who feel that life is so bad that it's easier to take their own life than persevere through the crap.

But then I've never really given a shit about the religious people. So I don't care how much they want me to feel bad for going against God's wishes

In most religions yes it is.

When a person contemplates suicide they are not seeing the whole picture. They are hurting and wanting the pain to go away. So to them it will make the pain go away. Its permanent. You don't get to wake up the next day and see how it all plays out because your dead. To me that in itself would be a self inflicting hell. Religion uses methods to scare you, to try to open your eyes, by saying if you kill yourself, you will for surely go to hell. Which you do, you are no longer living.

So when I talk to someone that is wanting to die, I remind them that there will be no tomorrow. Life is about living and waking up each day to make it better. If you kill yourself, how can you make it better or even try. Life is hard, but living life even in the bad times is a gift. Because you are experiencing it...feeling the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful. So what hurts today, will ease tomorrow. The pain you feel today is actually teaching you to feel stronger tomorrow. And you will! You will feel better, you will get up and be so grateful to be alive and think back to the day you wanted it to end and be grateful you didn't give up.

I for one want to see tomorrow.

It is considered a sin and in many cases is illegal as well.

Now, most folks that are seriously considering suicide don't care that it's a sin nor is that going to stop them.

My friend killed herself this year and at her funeral the minister said She believed in God, etc and is with him. So I guess it is up to God. I think you go to a Purgetory holding place till it is time for you to go either to heaven or hell. I think God makes you contemplate your life for a while.

I think it is a sin that can be forgiven if one asks for it before doing it
