Why haven't I become addicted? I started smoking about 5 years ago and absoultely love it.However I have yet to become addicted. I will go from smoking a pack a day for a month straight to not smoking for over 2 weeks. What is wrong with me? Everyone else gets urges where the just have to smoke whereas I treat it as a hobby that is done for fun but is not required. Why is it like this? - Asked by Female, 18-21 |

Research has shown that different people have different tolerances to the chemicals in tobacco. Some people are close to being hopeless addicts: it's estimated to be about 20% of our population. You're in the 80%, lucky you. I was one of the fortunate 20% to escape.

There is nothing wrong with you for not being addicted. But there is everything wrong still wanting to smoke.
