So, are these people trying to ruin me?

I am unemployed and trying to find a job. I put my resume up on both Career Builder and Monster.

I get all these emails saying that given my experience at such and such hotel (for pastry), we really think you'd be a great candidate for us.

Then I look it up and it's like...a life insurance company!

Nowhere near my field. Obviously not what I'm looking for.

Gah!

Are they trying to make it so that I have to say I turned down work when I apply for Unemployment?

This is so irritating!

You were not offered a job. They offered an interview and if you were dumb enough to apply you would get it because its 100% commission selling life insurence. They will hire the world. You can ignore them. It will not hurt your benefits.

These agencies send you a lot of crap. They don't really care what job you take....so long as you take a job that they advertised.

It's all about the numbers for them.

And they're hoping that, on the off chance, you might just think "HEY....this sounds pretty interesting!"

Those are scams. They charge you money to sell their products. And it's products that no one will buy.
