Fashion rules with pantyhose...

I'm talking the old school pantyhose, not leggings, or stirrup style leggins, etc.

Any fashion rules you follow? For example, no open toed shoes with hose.

Specifically, do you think black hose should be worn only with black shoes?

Old school pantyhose use in the same post as hose. Hose used in this term normally means stockings, stockings are not pantyhose. Panty hose are a lazy way to wear stockings and no wear near sexy, which is what stockings are supposed to accomplish. Fashion rules? Buy stockings. Color, what color is your dress. Or are you going to do what some women I have seen do, where pantyhose, stockings with slacks and high top shoes?

I have something against wearing them with an open toe shoe too! It annoys me and it always makes the toes look deformed, my current problem is I only have peep-toes and a million patterened tights I bought in Italy that I don't wear.

Only black hose I own are patterned, I don't think I would wear them with black shoes, it ruins the shoe, you can't see it (if it's plain black) and I would never wear it when I'm in a black dress and black shoes... far too morbid.

I think it's a good look with boots!

If you wear pantyhose with open toed shoes, it should be the SANDLE FOOT type, which is sheer toe.

As far as what color pantyhose to wear with what color shoes... you can wear any color you want to with any color shoes you want to. Right now they are showing leggings with dresses; no bare legs. Because of this fashion trend, you can wear black pantyhose, with anything, because the idea is covering the legs. That is all.

As far as there being a difference between stockings and pantyhose... DUH! But, those two words have been synonomous for about 50 years! The only TRUE STOCKINGS you will see, are at bordellos, where the hookers are dressing up. lol

Nobody has worn garter belts and stockings since the century changed. Thank God for that! Nobody seems to care what we go through to try and please!

#1...I hate wearing pantyhose and wear them on only formal occassions.....that goes for stockings too...ugh..garter belts? puh-leeze!!

#2....actually...if the weather is warm enough for an open toe shoe and the occassion is not too formal....no hose/stockings and a great pedicure looks much better.

You can wear nude or black with black shoes. I have been told only wear black hose but sometimes I don't like it to be only one color

I posted a query concerning pantyhose on this site a while back, and learned that a lot of women wear pantyhose anymore. They wear tights. I have no problem with women wearing pantyhose with open-toed shoes. I think women look good in black p'hose. Especially with a short skirt.
