The Swine Flu Vaccination

Yesterday my daughter's school sent a slip to sign if I want her to be vaccinated against the swine flu. They also provided info about its side effects. They're terrifying! Besides, it's a relatively new vaccine and I've heard about some death cases after the shots. Please, note that more than few people contracted the flu here in Turkey and 3-4 out of whom died. So my question is, did you have your child vaccinated?
P.S. My daughter has a very strong immune system, but I can't decide.

My lady as a Physical Thearpist has seen the severe side effect that this shot acn do to healthy poeple the worst is Guilian Brae' syndrome whre your paralyzed from thr neck down and on a respirator to breath and some make it back(very hard work) and others have died. Its supposed to be rare but in 1997 I had 5 cases come before me in 6 months and 3 of them died and under the age of 35!! Teach her good handwashing methods( causes most flu's-dirty hands) and stay out of people faces!!I would not give my child that shot until they can make it safer!!Guillian Brae' is a sad thing to watch progress!!

The swine flu vaccine this year is safer than even the normal annual flu shot, as it has received more intense testing to ensure safety. There is always a risk involved, but from what I understand it is a relatively minor one. People have to weigh the risk for themselves, but if I had a child in school I would certainly want him or her to be vaccinated. The swine flu is dangerous for a number of reasons, not least of which the fact that unlike normal seasonal flu, which tends to target the sick and the elderly, it strikes young and otherwise healthy people. Children, who have less-well-developed immune systems, are at greater risk.

To get all the facts, I would suggest going to flu dot gov and doing some reading. You have to make this choice for yourself and your daughter, but from everything I have heard and read, it is well worth it to safeguard your child. The risks of the flu far outweigh any from the vaccine. Best of luck.

My granddaughter received the H1N1 yesterday and is just fine. ptawillis is off his rocker saying he has seen the side effects of this vaccine. Funny....this vaccine is just coming out. As a matter of fact, people are still on waiting lists. I can't vouch for the vaccine in Turkey but here in the US it is safe. Be advised though, there are RARE instances of ANY vaccine being able to cause serious side effects.

God i loved living in that country : )
well let me just say this from what i read of your post she is still so young a baby she would hate reading this right : ) and its your responsibility to keep her healthy and safe so thats one point for vaccine.
But side effects fact that even doctors and nurses by hundreds refuse to take it has to mean something as well i read advice of a doctor to a mother just like you.
He told her decision is yours and i can't make it for you but am a doctor and i am not getting it so take from that what you can and make your decision.

Good luck in whatever you decide ...

Do not get the vaccination to many side effects and the human body is made to be able to fight off swine flu on its own.

As soon as it's available I'm getting my daughter immunized. I couldn't imagine how rough it would be for 6 month old to get this flu. Side effects from any shot are rare. Everyone I know has had all their immunizations and yet I don't know one that has had a bad side effect from one. So far with all the shots my daughter has had,she hasn't had any issues and I don't think this one will be any different.
