I was involved with a music project and wasn't credited on the album

If you spent quite a while in fact over four days working on a mixdown production for an album, should the artist at least give a credit on the album sleeve, yes I was paid and dont expect and royalties but it's fair that names should be listed on the album, was this a selfish act on the musicians behalf and wanted 100% of the glory???

I think you should sue. It has to be illegal. It is tantamount to plagiarism.

You definitely should have been given credit for your work. I think it is disgusting when people will not give those that deserve credit recognition..This goes for music and " other things" that people steal and not give credit even to other sites. Happens on this site weekly. Rosey

You should be given credit for all your work.

Next time, take the time and draft a contractual agreement. Don't just go into any arrangement blind sided.... make and negotiate your terms for whatever it is you do.... if you want credit for you work, state it in the contract. If they don't agree to your terms, tell them to kick rocks.....

It would have been the proper thing to mention your name somewhere on the album - most musicians do this. It sounds like the one you were working with is a bit inconsiderate, into himself, or possibly didn't know that he should have done this.

I dont know anything about the music buisness, but this does sound out of order to me, and im sure you must have some recourse there.. its like he is claiming your work as his own,,,,that cant be legal

It sucks, but sometimes thats the way it goes.

If I were you, I'd think twice the next time the guy calls you to work for him again.

Sounds like he was being greedy. That's too bad you won't get that recognition, but YOU know you did it.
