Should I drop my friend?

She's my friend and my boyfriend's Best friend. She has changed so much in the last year... for the worse. She thinks she's changed for the better. She has a good job and makes good money. She goes to school, but she is so condescending. She thinks my job is easier than hers, even though my job is Physically tiring and mentally draining. She's just a data input secretary. She's always saying that I have everything so easy and that I'm spoiled. I'm hardly spoiled. I work 30 hours a week at a fast food place and go to school. She works 15 hours a week. She always gives half-@ssed insults. She says I'm mean to her even though she's called me fat and a b!tch before. She doesn't call me unless her other friends turn her down. The good news is, she'll be leaving for school next Fall. Should I get rid of her? What should I do?

I miss back when..........

it seemed like a year ago, when i started, that there were many more funny questions that you could give funny answers to, and everyone was happier.

now, due to the recession, everyone is in the dumps. don't allow your circumstances dictate your emotional state. sure, there are times to be serious, but there's also times you have to be light hearted, ESPECIALLY during these trying times.

so, if you could laugh, what would you laugh at now? or what was something from your past that made soda come out your nose you were laughing so hard?

Can't believe I am posting this, but its bugging me

Okay I know how silly this sounds I am almost tempted to post this anon but i have not ever done that so I am not going to start now.

I have a best friend and we have been friends for 15 years.. we are thicker then thieves.. lately she has been having some stresses at work and some family issues.. etc.... so we have had a few girls days.. etc.. we also rarely argue.. in fact the last disagreement we had was about 10 years ago. We are very up front and very much alike.

As many of you know the movie New Moon came out today.. she wanted to see it so we made plans to go next Saturday. I am not a fan of crowded theaters but it was the only day she had.. no big deal.

I had a free day today so I went to the movie alone this morning. (we both read the books we know how it ends.. etc) without the crowd , figuring I would want to see it again with her (and I do and am looking forward to it and spending time with her)

I mentioned it to her later in the day that I went and couldn't' want to go again she was totally LIVID that I went. It seemed a bit over the top for her and I am suprised by her reaction.. Again this could be just a reaction to some of the stress issues she has going on) however she has not returned my texts or calls and I told her I was sorry and had no idea she felt so strongly about it.

I didn't do it to hurt her and it seems so minor and almost stupid to even ask this.

But I can't change it and honestly did not think it was that big a deal. (with our schedules if the situation were reversed I would have been fine with it, it's just a movie.)

I guess I am asking what your take is on this.. sorry its so long but this is really confusing to me. I just needed to get this off my chest. I feel bad for upsetting her. I had no idea.. this is so odd. Thanks!

Update: November 21, 2009.
That makes total sense.. thank you for that!

Update: November 21, 2009.
lol.. in my defense I can't believe she is hurt over it :)

Update: November 21, 2009.
Thanks again for all the posts.. just to point out she is normally NOT like this at all, very out of the norm for her, she is very level headed so I am sure it will blow over but I still feel bad for hurting someone I love, even if it is minor

Update: November 21, 2009.
Thanks

Quicksilvr you are right.. ever since my eye surgerys I have no side vision (like a horse with blinders) but my hearing is amazing so I can HEAR you but can't see you so crowds tend to bug me. I thought It would be distracting to see it in a crowd which is one of the reasons I went alone today.

Meow.. totally see your point.. but we are pretty open and it seems like an over the top reaction however as I said she has some stuff going on.. maybe it was just one more thing.. thanks you guys for the advice

Behavior of Women? What do women want?

Do women get discouraged or even disgusted with a man if he does not try to get them into bed? I have known her for 20 years of the 26 years she was married. She started a divorce 1 1/2 years ago due to her husband's infidelity, but it is currently hung up. I started talking to her when the divorce started, to try to get her out of depression. We have gone to lunch several times, dinner twice, and she has asked me for advice about her car, house and computer when problems came up, but never did anything about her car or house. The last thing I did recently was to go to her house to fix her crashed computer so she could pay bills, and she treated me to dinner by saying that if I let her pay for dinner now, that I could take her to the most expensive restaurant next time. I do like her a lot and I know that she knows it, but I am 18 years her senior. Since that night 3 weeks ago, she has not responded to any of the letters I sent as I do not like calling her at her job. What gives?
