Question directed towards strong christians.....

Please, this is a serious question. So please do rude comments, if you don't like this, just disregard this.

This question is directed towards strong christians.
My dad has been asking my a question that I am having a hard time answering. My parents do not get along anymore. One of the main problems is that my mother resents my dads mother. The reasons are kinda irrelevant right now. But she has lost her husband and is now living alone.
My dad is very close with his mother and my mom hates when he visits her or has any kind of contact with her. My dad is tord between helping his mother and respecting his wife. And we are confused when the Bible says to honor thy father and thy mother. He wants to honor his mother but this causes my mom to hate him and resent him and is destroying his marriage. But the Bible also says to submit to your spouse. So does anyone know where to drawt the line here? What is he supposed to do in this situation? Its like a lose lose situation. If he abandons his mother for his wife he hurts her, but if he keeps her in his life, he is making his marriage worse. Something has to give.

Should they get jail time or time in a mental institution?

I think these two teens should get jail time and more than the six years that the prosecution is asking for.

Two female teens 'finally' called the ambulance for their mother who was close to dying last year and what the medics found was a woman........in her mid to late 40s, who was a Paraplegic, lying in a filthy ass bed with horrendous bed sores all over her, maggots, lying in her feces covered with sheets that has said to not have been changed for years!

But........these teens were able to cash ALL of her monthly checks!

These young women need to do 15 - 25 years minimum of jail time, with no chance of parol.... if I had anything to do with it, so that they can remember each and every day that their mother suffered!

I also can't understand nor know about where were other family members - or friends - or whoever, who did not know this was all going on?????

I shudder to think of anybody covered with maggots and being alive 24/7 and not able to do anything about it!

Update: November 17, 2009.
SO SORRY, I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE WOMAN DIED!!!!!! AT THE HOSPITAL when the medics got her there! So 15-25 years is NO SENTENCE AT ALL........but they may only get 6 years tops! I would love to beat them bloody in a back alley somewhere - THERE IS NO EXCUSE for what they did!!!! NONE!! And, for the IDIOT who said that the woman was too Obese to get out of bed - NOWHERE DID I WRITE that she was OBESE!!!! I HATTTTEEEE When people add something into the post that was NOT THERE!!!!!

Wait just a damn minute...

Let's use people like Gandhi, the Dalai Lamas, Confucius, your average Buddhist monk who would not even literally harm a fly. These are virtuous and just people in their own right. By all accounts, they lead more virtuous lives than your average Christian.

Do you mean to tell me, based on some of the answers here, that even if these people have led more virtuous lives according to their own faith or moral compass than you have been the average Christian, just because they haven't accepted God as the lord and Jesus as their savior, they won't go to Heaven even though they have committed more good in their life than maybe two Christians put together? But the average Christian does just because they've accepted blah blah blah and so forth?

That just seems wrong to me. Even if I lead a virtuous life, just because I don't use the correct brand of faith, I'm going to Hell? Nobody sees anything wrong with that?

After We Fix The CO2 Levels. What's Next?

Remember back in the 80's we had a big hole in the ozone layer? then we fixed it by getting rid of Freon and CFC propellants.

Now we're struggling with global warming due to CO2 levels being too high. But I'm confident that within twenty years we'll get a handle on that.

So what will be the next big ecological problem we face?

Did you see the t-shirts they were BANNED from selling in china?

it read CHAIRMAN OBA MAO and had obama in mao's military outfit (just the face and collar). OMG, it was so funny, but the marxist bast*rds shut it down!
